Martin Schlaeppi transitioned to DHG Corporate Finance in 2018 from his role as Chief Growth Officer for Dixon Hughes Goodman, LLP, the accounting firm where he had almost 40 years of experience. As Chief Growth Officer for the firm, Martin was responsible for the industries and client service lines within DHG’s geographies. Martin was also instrumental in starting DHG Corporate Finance, recruiting Marcus Fariss and Brett Bond to be the initial managing directors. Early in his career, Martin had been very involved in corporate finance, working on numerous transactions.
While at DHG, Martin served in various roles including audit partner, managing partner of the Triad, managing partner of the Central Carolinas, and leadership roles focusing on the growth and client services portion of the business. He was also actively involved in Praxity, a national alliance of accounting firms, where he worked internally and externally to build relationships around the globe. He will continue many of these relationships in the corporate finance area, as DHG Corporate Finance works on many transactions with international components.
In his role as CGO, Martin has had extensive interaction with executive management and boards of directors at a number of the large public and private companies served by DHG. Over the years, he also has served on the boards of many civic and not-for-profit organizations.
Martin graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and completed his accounting studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
