Marcus Fariss has almost 25 years of experience in investment banking and senior management roles in the financial services sector. Currently he is co-founder and a Managing Director of DHG Corporate Finance. Prior to DHG Corporate Finance, he was with Cary Street Partners since 2005 as a Managing Director in their Greensboro, North Carolina office; co-founder and Managing Director of Fariss Feldmann Huff & Co., (“FFHC”) a Southeast-based investment bank and a co-founder; and Managing Director of Gryphon Capital Partners, LLC, a private equity management company. Before founding FFHC in 1995, he was a member of the executive management group at Ruff Hewn Limited Partnership. In addition, he was a founder, President, CEO, and Director of American Bank and Trust Co. (“AB&T”). Following the sale of AB&T to Southern National Corporation, Marcus became President and CEO of Southern National Savings Corporation, where he was involved in the bank’s mergers and acquisitions.
Marcus graduated from Hampden-Sydney College, cum laude, where he was a George F. Baker Scholar. He received his Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Marcus was the former Chairman of the Westchester Country Day School Endowment Board, and is a current Member of the Board of Visitors at High Point University. He is also an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. Formerly, Marcus served as a board member of the North Carolina Bankers Association and Great Harvest Franchising, Inc., based in Dillon, Montana.
